WHAT WE DO
We arrange mission trips for Ole Miss students by partnering with credible non-profit humanitarian organizations. We take three trips throughout each year: one to Central America, one to Africa, and one to South America. To access trip dates and locations, click here. All trips are short term, lasting one to two weeks. Trips are open to anyone currently obtaining any Ole Miss degree and are led by Ole Miss students with global travel experience.
WHY OLEMISSIONS?
At least 80% of our world lives on less than $10 a day and 1.1 billion people do not have access to clean water. In 2015, Ole Miss students decided to do something about this. We believe that with a little help and hard work, all people will have the chance to smile. Grandparents will smile because their families have food; children will smile because they can continue to go to school; parents will smile because they can own a pig to help support their family; and all will smile because love was felt.
how we got started
In December of 2014, Caroline Loveless had a vision to connect Ole Miss Students to the rest of the world. She recruited Craig Howard Kirkland, Cole Putman, John Pierce, and Amanda Jones to help make this vision a reality. OleMissions was established in May of 2015 and its first trip is scheduled for January 2016. OleMissions was founded for Ole Miss students to help develop severely impoverished areas, in hopes that students will become responsible stewards of their gifts. OleMissions believes that the students of Ole Miss have the potential to change the world through caring smiles, compassionate actions, and world-wide cultural respect.
